Visa information

Non-Canadian nationals planning to pursue full-time higher education programs lasting longer than 6 months must apply for a Study Permit through Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) via the official online secure portal prior to arrival. Biometric data collection is completed at designated Visa Application Centres (VACs) or official collection points. Upon approval, an introductory port-of-entry letter of introduction is issued alongside a visitor visa or electronic travel authorization (eTA).

Mandatory Visa Disclaimer: Visa rules, entry requirements, fees, required financial proof thresholds, and residence procedures change over time. Always consult official Canadian government immigration portals (IRCC) or an official Canadian diplomatic mission prior to submitting an application or making travel plans.

Work rights

International students holding a valid study permit and enrolled full-time at a designated learning institution (DLI) can work off-campus up to the permitted weekly limit during term time, and full-time during scheduled institution breaks. No separate work permit is required for standard off-campus student employment within legal limits. Qualifying graduates may apply for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) valid for up to 3 years.
