Information we may collect

Depending on how you use the website, we may collect your name, email address, telephone or WhatsApp number, country, nationality, education history, marks or grades, preferred destination, study level, subject or program, intended intake, approximate budget, organisation details, enquiry content, consultation preferences, consent records, source page, referral and campaign parameters, account information, saved items, application details, uploaded documents, messages, and technical information such as device, browser, IP address, cookies, and security logs.

How we collect information

We may receive information directly from forms, accounts, enquiries, consultations, messages, uploads, and communications; automatically through essential cookies, server logs, fraud-prevention, and security technologies; and from institutions, representatives, service providers, referral partners, or publicly available sources where permitted.

How we use information

We may use personal information to respond to enquiries; provide counselling and requested services; match interests with institutions, programs, scholarships, or destinations; arrange callbacks or consultations; manage accounts, applications and communications; send alerts or marketing only where permitted; operate and improve the website; measure campaigns; prevent abuse and fraud; keep records of consent; comply with law; and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

Legal grounds and consent

Where applicable, we process information with consent, to take steps requested before entering into or performing a contract, to meet legal obligations, and for legitimate interests such as operating, securing, improving, and measuring our services, provided those interests do not override applicable individual rights. Consent may be withdrawn for future processing, but withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out lawfully.

Sharing and service providers

We may share information only as reasonably necessary with authorised staff and counsellors; education institutions and verified representatives when you request or authorise an enquiry or application; hosting, email, security, customer-support, communications, and technology providers; professional advisers; regulators, courts, or authorities where required; and parties involved in a genuine corporate transaction subject to appropriate safeguards. We do not sell personal information.

International transfers

Study-abroad services may require information to be processed in or transferred to countries other than the country where it was collected. Where required, we will use appropriate contractual, organisational, or legal safeguards and provide further information on request.

Retention

We generally retain enquiries and appointment records for up to 2 years after the last interaction; application records for up to 5 years after closure; inactive account records for up to 3 years after the last interaction, with advance deletion notice where applicable; consent records for up to 5 years after withdrawal or the end of the related processing; and security logs for up to 12 months. We may retain information longer where required by law or reasonably necessary for disputes, fraud prevention, regulatory obligations, or the establishment, exercise, or defence of legal claims. Information that is no longer required will be deleted, anonymised, or securely isolated in accordance with our procedures.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organisational measures intended to protect personal information. No online system is completely secure, and users should avoid sending unnecessary sensitive information through general enquiry forms.

Your choices and rights

Depending on applicable law and your location, you may have rights to receive information about processing; request access, correction, completion, erasure, restriction, or portability; withdraw consent; object to certain processing; opt out of direct marketing; nominate another person where applicable; and complain to the relevant authority. Requests may be sent to contact@studyabroad.asia. We may need to verify identity and may retain information where law permits or requires.

Children and guardians

The service may be used by prospective students who are minors. Where required, we will seek verifiable consent from a parent or lawful guardian and apply additional safeguards. Children should not submit sensitive documents or create accounts without appropriate adult involvement.

Cookies and external services

The website uses essential cookies and similar technical storage where needed for security, forms, sessions, and core functionality. We have not confirmed the intentional use of analytics or advertising cookies at the date shown above. If we introduce non-essential analytics or advertising technologies, we will update this policy and provide notice and consent choices where required. Links to third-party websites, institutions, or services are governed by their own privacy practices.

Automated decisions

We may use rules, filters, or matching tools to organise enquiries and suggest relevant content. We do not intend to make decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects solely by automated means without appropriate notice, safeguards, and human review where required.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our services, providers, practices, or legal obligations change. We will revise the date shown above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice of material changes.
