Osh State University traces its history back to 1939, from a teacher training institute, which in 1951 was transformed into Osh State Pedagogical Institute. Since 1992, the university has been functioning as Osh State University define our community.
The University is one of the largest universities in Central Asia, graduating specialists at all levels of education in a wide range of areas. For special contribution to the development of the socio-economic, spiritual and intellectual potential of the Kyrgyz Republic, by Decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic dated August 30, 2017 UP No. 189, Osh State University was awarded the Order of "Dank".
